So many of the things we feel

within our hearts today,

Are there because someone special

cared for us along life’s way.

Someone who believed in us

when faith was running low,

Whose gentle words and warm support

helped reassure us so.

Someone who could make us smile,

even through our tears,

Whose love still keeps us close,

across the miles and through the years,

Someone who has done much more

than she may realize —

Our Mother, who will always be

a hero in our eyes.
