School Capital Planning

As one member of the Board of Education’s Capital Improvement Strategic Action Team, I was pleased to read that the Superintendent Janet Robinson and Assistant Superintendent Linda Gejda will soon be implementing the capital improvement plan portion of the school system’s strategic plan.

Our group was charged with formulating action plans to develop and implement the school system’s capital improvement plan. Meetings began last fall and concluded this spring with several recommendations for areas of improvement. One of several recommendations the group made details a process for strong business cases to support capital improvement plan projects from inception through completion. This will result in improved cost analysis, greater oversight and buy-in among all parties associated with the capital improvement plan.

I am looking forward to the school administration’’s progress implementing the capital improvement action plans.
