John W. Conger
John W. Conger, 68, the former owner of the Conger Dry Wall Contracting Co. in
Newtown, died August 8 at his home, 72 Great Hill Road in Newtown. He was the
husband of Carol (Bunny) Boyle Conger.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on October 6, 1929, the son of Edward and Emma
(Sherwood) Conger. He had been a resident of Newtown for the past 65 years.
During the Korean War, Mr Conger was in the US Army stationed in Italy. He was
a member of the Charles Howard Peck Sr & Jr Post VFW in Newtown and the
Newtown Fish and Game Club.
He is survived by a son, Robert Conger of Sandy Hook; a daughter, Patricia
Conger Andrew of Newtown; a brother, Edward Conger, Jr, of Sandy Hook; and two
grandchildren, Dawnielle and Zachary Conger.
Funeral services were Wednesday, August 12, 1998, at the Honan Funeral Home,
58 Main Street, Newtown. Interment was in Newtown Village Cemetery.

Everett Petersen
Everett W. Petersen, the father of Marcia Sandner of Newtown, died August 2 in
West Palm Beach, Fla.
Mr Petersen, formerly of Woburn, Fla., was the husband of Marcella (Belliveau)
Petersen.
In addition to his wife and daughter, Mr Petersen is survived by a son,
Charles E. Petersen of Califon, N.J.; sisters, Carolene Gray of Woburn, Fla.
and Marion Hamilton of Ohio; and three grandchildren, Michael and Mark Sandner
and Robert Petersen.
The funeral was August 7. Interment followed services in Woburn at the
Woodbrook Cemetery.
