Capacity Crowd At 'CPR Saturday'
Capacity Crowd At âCPR Saturdayâ
To the Editor:
On behalf of the Newtown Emergency Medical Service Providers and the American Red Cross, I would like to thank all the participants in âCPR Saturday.â The community response was tremendous and we were filled to capacity. CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) is one of the most effective life saving techniques available to everyone. Early intervention does make a difference!
This event would not have been possible without team effort and lots of hard work. Special thanks to B.J. Halstead, the Sandy Hook Fire House, Mark de Wolfe, and our instructors, Debbie Aubin, Liz Cain, Mary Francis Denton, Harold Evans, Joe Farrell, Paula Gjerstad, B.J. Halstead, Mary Hugo, Scott Lee, and Mike McCarthy.
Support staff to keep things humming included Ken Appley, Dave Butz, Chris Belair, Liz Cain, Lynn Ceccaarelli, Debbie Drake, Karen Halstead, Will Johnston, Lori Beth LaJoie, Ann Pasko, Kris Peterson, Patty Powers, Stuart Reive, and Chris Vadas.
We are especially appreciative of the food and beverage donations from Bagel Man, Big Y, Eagle Hill Kitchen staff, Grand Union, Mr and Mrs Paul Mullins, and Stop & Shop.
Due to its unqualified success, the Emergency Medical Service Providers of Northwestern Connecticut intend to repeat âCPR Saturdayâ next year, making it an annual event. For those of you who were unable to join us, please note we offer full CPR courses at the Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps on an ongoing basis year-round. If you would like more information on course dates, please call us at 270-4380.
