BookTalk Planned For March 6

SOUTHBURY — The next meeting of the BookTalk group at Southbury Public Library will feature an author leading a discussion concerning his own book.

On Monday, March 6, Harmon Smith will lead a group in talking about his book, My Friend, My Friend. The book offers the story of the shifting friendship between Henry David Thoreau and Ralph Waldo Emerson. Mr Smith emphasizes their personal bond, but also shows readers how the two men’s relationship affected their thought and writing and was in turn influenced by their careers.

The program will begin at 2 pm, and there is no charge to attend. Prior reading of the book is not necessary to enjoy the discussion.
