FATHERSâ NIGHT â The next evening for Dads will be Monday, March 20 beginning at 7:30 pm.
âPARENTING IN THE TEEN ZONEâ â Attention parents of middle and high school students. Does it seem like an alien has taken over the body of your teen or almost teen? If you answered âyes,â the âTeen Zoneâ program may be for you. On April 3, 10, 17, 24, and May 1, from 7:30 to 9 pm, the St Rose Parish Nurse Ministry will once again sponsor this informative and enjoyable series. Open to the public, it will be held in the Msgr Conroy Room of the school. Cost is $25 per person or $35 per couple.

Afterschool Programs For Middle School Students
PASSAGES â BEGINS MARCH 22
This popular annual program is back again! Sessions will run for six Wednesdays from 4 to 5:30 pm and they are:
March 22 â âCelebrate Springâ presented by Cindy Walberg from Newtown Country Mill. Participants will leave with a floral gift perfect for a Passover or Easter gift. Fee is $16, which includes all supplies. Limit 15.
March 30 â â$$$ â How To Make The Most Of Itâ presented by Nancy Adams from Newtown Savings Bank. Come learn the various ways you can manage money earned from babysitting, yard work, allowance, etc.
April 5 â âGetting Off On The Right Footâ presented by the NHS Youth Advisory Board (YAB). Informational video presentation and discussions ranging from the various activities available and high school myths will be part of the program. Bring all your questions!
April 12 â âSo, You Want To Be A Vet?â This program will be offered by Dr Neal Warner, Newtown Animal Clinic. We will tour the clinic and learn exactly what is involved in the day of a vet. Limit 10.
April 19 â âSit, Stay, Down, Good Boy!â presented by Pam Kochuba, dog breeder and trainer. Come and work with various age dogs and learn what type of care each requires. Limit 10.
April 26 â âLess Is Moreâ presented by Dale Meier and Katie Moser. Weâll talk about skin care products, hair care and appropriate make-up application. One lucky girl will receive a makeover. Limit 20.

Community Events
LETâS PARTY! â âA MUSICAL EXTRAVAGANZAâ featuring Newtownâs best kept secrets of song, great food and plenty of dancing. Amazing auctionables.
Mark your calendar â Saturday, April 15, 7:30 pm at the Fireside Inn. This is a fundraising event for Newtown Youth Services. Tickets are $30 and available at NYS, Bob Tendlerâs office, Dr Gellertâs office, and at Newtown Cleaners. Please call the NYS office for info!
NYCAAP AIDS BENEFIT TALENT SHOW â March 22 at the high school. Curtain is 7 pm and tickets are $3.
NYS TALENT SHOW AUDITIONS will be held on March 28 and March 30 from 3 to 5 pm and April 3 and April 5 from 4 to 7 pm. Auditions will take place at NYS. The Talent Show is scheduled for Friday, May 12, 7 pm at the Newtown Middle School.
Youth Group Meetings:
The High School Youth Advisory Board (HS YAB) will hold a special meeting on Monday, March 20, at 6:30 pm to plan for the PASSAGES program they are presenting. The YABsâ regularly scheduled meeting will be on Monday, March 27, also at 6:30 pm.
The Middle School Youth Advisory Board (MS YAB) will next meet on TUESDAY, March 28 in the MS Teachersâ Lunch Room. The meeting will begin at 3:45 pm.
For planning purposes here are the meeting dates for the remainder of the year: Wednesday, April 5 at 3:45; Tuesday, April 25 at 8 am; Tuesday, May 9 at 3:45; and the final meeting will be on Wednesday, May 17 at 3:45.

Darlene Martin, a grandmother from Washington, won the 100 billionth Crayola crayon made by Binney & Smith. Mrs Martin won the crayon, which was made in the one-only color of blue ribbon, through a contest. She then sold it back to Binney & Smith for a $100,000 bond. The crayon is now in the Crayola Hall of Fame in Easton, PA.
