To the Editor:

The fall election season is upon us and important choices for the next few years of our lives need to be made. A critical seat in the Connecticut State Senate is open, and we need to elect someone who has the integrity, honesty, intelligence, and work ethic to represent all of us here in Newtown. That candidate is Michelle McCabe.

She has dedicated her professional career in the nonprofit world to protecting Connecticut families’ health and improving access to resources to make their lives better. By utilizing grant funding and state funding, Michelle knows how to ensure that state money is used wisely and not wasted.

Michelle’s work and knowledge of Connecticut issues has earned her the endorsement of Connecticut National Organization for Women, as she has worked tirelessly to make sure that our families can live well and engage in their communities.

Michelle was also named a candidate of distinction as a gun sense candidate from Moms Demand Action. She will stand up for our safety by working to keep guns out of the hands of those who cannot handle that responsibility and out of our state parks so our families can enjoy time together without worrying about those who are irresponsible with their weapons.

Michelle’s capacity to advocate for Newtown in the state Senate is unparalleled. She engages with Newtowners, listens to those who have been ignored, and she will continue to stand for all of us. We need her this November. I hope you will get to know her as I have and see that she will fight for us every day.
