Fleet Offers Financial Grants
HARTFORD â The Fleet All-Stars contest is a perfect summertime activity for kidsâ organizations. It offers them a chance to win prize money for doing good works in their communities. Fleet will donate more than $400,000 to winners of this yearâs All-Stars contest throughout the Northeast. In Connecticut alone, Fleet will award a $15,000 first prize, $7,500 second prize, and several prizes of $3,000 for the best service projects.
Fleet All-Stars was started in 1996 to inspire kids to get involved in the neighborhoods where they live, play, and go to school. Groups such as Boys and Girls Clubs, schools, neighborhood associations, and summer camps are invited to do creative projects that demonstrate volunteerism and team work and make a lasting contribution to the community. Any service activity completed between April 1 and August 31, 2001, is eligible for this yearâs program.
Anyone interested in registering or learning more about this yearâs program should contact Nell Debevoise at 860-986-5660 or email Nell_M_Debevoise@Fleet.com. The contest can also be researched at the Fleet All-Stars Web site at www.fleet.com/allstats.
