Fortier
Edward J. Fortier, 63, husband of Janet (Lufsey) Fortier of Jennifer Lane, Sandy Hook, died August 7, in Danbury Hospital, after an illness of several months.
He was born in the Bronx, N.Y., March 14, 1940, a son of the late William E. and Marion (Englehart) Fortier. Mr Fortier was raised in Westchester County and lived in Stamford for several years before moving to Sandy Hook one year ago. He was employed for several years in telecommunications, and was last employed by NYNEX.
He was a devoted member of Trinity Episcopal Church and was formerly a member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Stamford.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Robert Fortier of Courtland Manor, and Edward Fortier of Yonkers, N.Y.; a daughter, Susan Vaselkos of Garrison, N.Y.; two brothers, William E. Fortier of Red Hook, and Raymond Fortier of St Petersburg, Fla.; and two grandsons, Thomas and Peter Vaselkos. He was predeceased by a brother, Albert Fortier.
Funeral services were held at Trinity Episcopal Church, Monday August 11. The Rev Kathleen Adams-Shepherd officiated. Entombment took place at Ferncliff Cemetery Mausoleum, Hartsdale, N.Y. Contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 36 Main Street, Newtown, CT 06470. Funeral arrangements were by Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown.
