Concerned About The Cows

This letter has been inspired by my anguish over what was included in the Newtown parade this past Labor Day holiday.

I am by no means a fanatical animal rights activist. I am writing as a compassionate, concerned citizen.

I was in disbelief when I saw a cow and two calves being constantly tugged along by children leading them down the parade route. The cow was frothing profusely at the mouth and looked to be very much distressed. I did not see any water readily available for the animas. Believe me, I looked.

With so many farm animals on display at fair this time of year, I find it ridiculous that the committee members were so desperate to fill space, that cows had to be used.

I do believe that the parade committee members need to be a little wiser as to what they allow to be entered.
