The American Cancer Society Relay for Life is an overnight community celebration during which individuals and teams camp out, dance, play games and take turns walking around a track relay style to raise funds to fight cancer. At nightfall, participants will light hundreds of luminarias (candle lanterns) in a heartwarming ceremony to honor cancer survivors as well as friends and family members lots to the disease.
The Luminiaria Committee is looking for pictures of cancer survivors as well as those who have lost their fight to cancer for the luminaria ceremony, which will be held at 9 pm on the night of the relay. Please bring any pictures to the April 12 meeting or contact Alice Mascher at 364-1957. All photos will be returned.
Anyone who has any questions can contact Dawn Escoda 270-7541 or Ivette Gerics 426-3589.
