Farewell To A Friend

Bow, the loyal and dignified leader of The Newtown Bee’s trio of office dogs, died on Wednesday, August 11. As is the custom of Golden Retrievers, she was friendly, attentive, and endlessly tolerant of the tumultuous routine that unfolds each day here at The Bee. Bow was for many of us the calm at the eye of the endlessly churning storm of our newspaper office, providing solace and consolation when things weren’t going well and a ready playmate when we felt like celebrating. We miss her terribly and could use a good dose of her steady friendship right about now. Our sympathy goes out to the Baggett family, who so generously shared her with us each day, and we promise forbearance and understanding as our two remaining office dogs, Starr and Deke, try to carry on without their leader.
