Obey The Cell Phone Law
Obey The Cell Phone Law
To the Editor:
We are again facing the anniversary of the death of our granddaughter, Amy, who was killed in a car crash February 8, 2004. The driver of the car was distracted for just an instant by the cell phone she was using. That momentary lapse of attention killed Amy and critically injured another.
That happened in New York State, where there is a law against hand held cell phones in cars. Now Connecticut has that law, but it is broken over and over. This tragedy that has devastated our family, could happen to any of you.
The car is not the place to chit chat with your friends. If you must talk, find a place to park. Or better yet, do your talking at home. The death you prevent might even be your own.
