After Fight At Garner
State police said they responded to a report of a violent incident about 10:20 am on July 4 at Garner Correctional Institution, the stateâs high-security prison at 50 Nunnawauk Road.
Following an investigation, state police arrested two of three inmates who were involved in a fight.
State police said they charged Earl Thompson, 33, of East Hartford, and also Ian Wright, 39, of Bridgeport each with third-degree assault. A third inmate involved in the fight was not charged. The prisoners were not injured in the incident, according to state police.
Both Thompson and Wright were scheduled for arraignments on July 5 in Danbury Superior Court.
Thompson is serving a 45-year sentence on a conspiracy conviction, and Wright is serving a 35-year sentence on a murder conviction.
