Theater Barn Will Celebrate Storytelling At âTellabration! 2006â
RIDGEFIELD â Once again, the art of storytelling will be celebrated at Ridgefield Theater Barn with a presentation of Tellabration! 2006, a nationwide phenomenon that first began in Connecticut in 1988.
Each year, Tellabration! events across the country assemble an ever-growing network of storytelling enthusiasts, both listeners and tellers, to celebrate the joy of story. They gather at the same time on the same weekend: the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
Ridgefield Theater Barnâs fourth annual Tellabration! will feature several Connecticut storytellers: Keir Hansen, local actor, storyteller, and a teacher in New Milford; Dr Darla Shaw, professor at Western Connecticut State University; Missy Slaymaker-Hanlon, childrenâs theater workshop director; and Martha Bishop, former media specialist, who is also the organizer of the event. The presentation has an all-ages appeal and families are encouraged to attend.
Tellabration! 2006 will be presented at the theater barn, 37 Halpin Lane, on Saturday, November 18, from 10 to 11:30 am. Family tickets are $20; individual tickets, $5. Light snacks will be served. Reservations are not required.
