DANBURY â A Western Connecticut State University troupe of student actors is on a mission to help Santa Claus bring boys and girls everywhere their favorite toys in the special presentation of the musical Holly Jolly Holiday on Saturday, December 9.
LaMar Productions, in association with the WestConn theater department, will stage the holiday play at 2 pm in Berkshire Theatre. General admission tickets are $8. Tickets may be purchased at the door or in advance by calling LaMar Productions at 778-3344.
Under the direction of LaMar Productions owner Linda Randazzo, the WestConn student troupe will present the story of how orphaned siblings Jane and Michael, hiding away in the Fizzywigâs Toys factory to avoid being separated, became the heroes who save Christmas by helping beleaguered Mr Fizzywig to meet a mountain of toy orders by Christmas Eve.
Overhearing that Fizzywigâs Toys may be torn down by Mr Puffernuss to make way for a condo development, Jane and Michael begin making toys in secret with the help of Noel the Christmas Doll and Elfie the Jack-in-the-Box. The orphans come out of hiding and are invited by Mr Fizzywig to join his hard-working toyshop staff in the rush to finish the toys before Santaâs arrival, and together they succeed in helping Mr Fizzywig save the toy factory.
The theater is within Berkshire Hall, on the universityâs midtown campus on Osborne Street.
