Senior services for Newtown seniors are available at the Multi-Purpose Building on Riverside Road in Sandy Hook. The Senior Center is under the auspices of The Commission on Aging. You may drop in at the Senior Center on Riverside Road in Sandy Hook weekdays between 9 am and 4 pm. A hot meal is served at noon for which you must reserve three days in advance.
Newtown has daily door-to-door minibus service Monday through Friday. Buses also run all day from the Senior Center to Sand Hill Plaza. On Fridays, the bus alternates between rides to Danbury Fair Mall and Berkshire Plaza in Danbury (to Wal-Mart Route 6). Cost is 65¢ each way for the Sand Hill Plaza trip, 75¢ each way for out of town. Call 748-2511 TWO DAYS IN ADVANCE to book a ride and get the out-of-town Friday schedule.

*Viva Las Vegas!! AT THE AQUA TURF CLUB on Tuesday, November 13. Enjoy a day filled with food, entertainment, games and prizes. Depart at 10 am; cost is $67.
*HOT TOPICS IN ELDER LAW talk will be Wednesday, November 14, 1 to 2 pm. Elder Law Attorney Ann L. Fowler-Cruz will discuss major legislative changes that impact seniors. Also sign up for a 20-minute personal consultation with Attorney Fowler-Cruz to be held on November 20, from 1 to 4 pm.
*Thanksgiving bingo will be November 15.

*HEALTH WATCH will be presented by the Bethel Visiting Nurses Association on Wednesday, November 21, at 1 pm.
*CHRISTMAS AT PLATZL BRAUHAUS in Pomona, N.Y., on Tuesday, December 4, at 8:30 am. Enjoy a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, sing along or dance with the Christmas Band. The cost is $75 per person
*ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY will be on Tuesday, December 11, from 11 am to 3 pm, at The Waterview on Route 34 on the Monroe/Newtown line, with a gourmet buffet, champagne toast, 50/50 raffle, music and entertainment. Call the Newtown Senior Center for reservations, 270-4310; $35 per person.

Thursday: Thanksgiving Special: Roast turkey with gravy, herb stuffing, fresh sweet potato, peas and carrots, dinner roll pumpkin pie, apple cider.
