SNAN Readies For Bake Sale 

Spay and Neuter Association of Newtown Vice President Penny Meek walked across the winter-burned grass at The Pleasance Monday to greet friends Ann Manley and Glenn Blake. The three were accompanied by dogs Abby, a greyhound, and mixed-breed Becky with splashes of bright blue in her honey-brown eyes.

The early sunshine was warm on their coats as Becky, a three-legged dog from the pound, and Abby, who had also been rescued from the pound, soon settled down for photos. Unfolding a yellow piece of paper and reaching to pet Abby, Ms Meek hoped her note would explain why they were out on Tuesday morning, looking at the first signs of spring where the daffodils had begun to poke through the soil.

Spay and Neuter members are prepping for their spring bake sale at Lexington Gardens on Saturday, March 22, from 10 am to 2 pm. The sale will feature homemade cakes, cookies, pies, breads, quiches, all-natural dog biscuits, and more.

The Spay and Neuter Association of Newtown has helped provide spay and neuter help for cats and dogs in and around Newtown for roughly 20 years. The group provides information, financial, or educational assistance, and helps with required shots.
