Children’s Programs

Story hour registration for the winter session will be extended through Saturday, January 30, due to unexpected library closings. Spaces are still available for the program for two year olds or the 3-5-year-old story time. Fill out a registration form in the children’s department; no phone registrations will be accepted.  You must register to be eligible for the winter session. The seven-week session begins February 1 and ends the week of March 21.  For more information call the children’s department at 426-3851.

Valentine Craft Program: Marie Walker will conduct a Valentine craft workshop on Saturday, February 12 from 11 am to 12:30 pm for children ages 6 and older. Class size is limited and you must register in person at the library.  A $2 material fee is due upon registration.

 

Adult Programs

Donations are currently being accepted for the Labor Day Book Sale. Please leave your books on the cart near the Children’s Department. Your contributions are greatly appreciated.

A child’s wallet found at the Christmas Tree lighting in early December has been turned in at the library, as well as a change purse. Please call the library at 426-4533 if either one of these lost items might be yours.

Come in from the cold and enjoy some movies worth a second viewing. Booth Library Celebrates Great Movies That Were Great Books First!  The series will continue on Friday, January 28, at 12:30 pm with a witty adaptation of Jane Austen’s comedy of manners about a headstrong young woman who likes to play matchmaker.  Running time of 111 minutes.  The movie is rated PG. On February 11, the movie will be Breakfast at Tiffany’s and on February 25, A River Runs Through It will be the feature.  Movies are always free and popcorn will be served.

Paula Moliver, a crafter with diverse talents, will be giving a “Painting on Silk” demonstration on Monday, January 31 at 10 am.  Everyone is invited to come and learn about this craft which gives such pleasing results. Also, don’t miss the opportunity of seeing Paula’s display on the first floor of the library just across from the elevators.

Yoga with Ricky Ayers will be beginning again on February 10, at 4:45-6:15 pm in the meeting room and will meet for four consecutive Thursdays. Please call Ricky directly at 262-8721. New members are always welcome.

Free Tax Help is available at the library every Tuesday afternoon beginning February 8 and running through April 11 from 1-5 pm. Ken Wilkinson is once again volunteering his services.  No appointment is necessary
