Occupation: I’m the general manager for Lexington Gardens, since November.

Family: I’ve been married to Beth for three years. Her parents live here in Newtown, and mine are in Bethlehem.

Pets: Not yet, but pretty soon. I’d like to get an English bulldog.

How long have you lived in Newtown? I’ve flip-flopped between Southbury, where I grew up, and Newtown a few times, but I have lived in Newtown for about three years now.

What do you like to do in your free time? Well, right now, I’m here at Lexington Gardens seven days a week. But when I have free time, I like to be outdoors so I do a lot of camping, hiking, and rock climbing. You’ll never find me indoors unless it’s a torrential downpour.

Do you have a favorite local hiking spot? Where the Appalachian Trail crosses through northwestern Connecticut, around Salisbury. I’ve done all of the Appalachian Trail in Connecticut and some in Massachusetts.

Do you have a favorite travel destination? I’m going to Amsterdam and Munich this fall, so that’s something to look forward to. I was in the military and I got to travel a lot then in the Middle East, Italy, Turkey, Spain, and Southern France.

What is the best thing about Newtown? I just love how spread out the town is. Every time I go out on delivery, it’s like a new part of Newtown I’ve never seen before. Working here, I meet a lot of longtime residents, too, who tell you their little piece of history. It’s interesting.

Do you have a hero? Not one, really. I get a lot of inspiration from a lot of different people. The people in your life are the ones who make you who you are.

Do you have a personal philosophy? Live life. It’s all you can do.

What is the silliest or most dangerous thing you have done? The most dangerous is probably working on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier at night. I worked on F18 Hornets. Picture two football fields of concrete out on the ocean in the middle of the night and big jets turning on deck… and bombs being walked around. Some people might say that rock climbing is the silliest thing I do, but that’s pretty tame next to that.
