Artists And Friends To Honor Nancy Lee Schulz

CARMEL, N.Y. — For those who have ever wished there was more viewer interaction at art exhibits, The Reflectionists may have an answer.

The artists’ group, dedicated to encouraging exploration and dialogue in the visual arts, will be presenting its next show, “Visions, Sensations, Considerations,” November 14-22.

Viewers will encounter a diverse array of styles, Abstract to traditional, at Arts on The Lake (the former Lake Carmel Firehouse), 640 Route 52 in Carmel, N.Y. Clipboards will be posted next to each piece in the exhibit, with viewers invited to jot their reactions to the art and the artists’ statements. Visitors will be encouraged to “consider a picture, not in 1,000 words but in a few.”

Work in the show will be by the members The Reflectionists, including the late Nancy Lee Schulz. Ms Schulz, a longtime resident of Newtown who died in September, will be featured in a special section of the exhibition. The show is also being dedicated to her memory.

An opening reception will be celebrated from 1 to 4 pm on Sunday, November 15. The Symbolist artist Alexander Shundi will offer a brief talk during the reception.

Gallery hours are Saturday and Sunday, 1 to 4 pm. For additional information visit Reflectionist.org.
