TheatreWorks New Milford To Introduce New Theater
For Young Audiences With âBlueâs Clues Liveâ
NEW MILFORD â On Saturday and Sunday, January 23-24, TheatreWorks New Milford, in conjunction with The Ridgefield Theater Barn, will present three performances of Blueâs Clues Live! The Most Spectacular Place, the first installment in the new Theatre for Young Audience Series designed specifically for preschool and elementary school children.
Produced and directed by Theater Barn Kids program director Missy Slaymaker-Hanlon, this production will feature local actors â not a touring company â in order to provide the best local theater for young audiences.
âI am excited that BLUEâS CLUES will christen our new Theatre for Young Audiences Program for 2010,â said TheatreWorks President Glenn R. Couture. âI find this to be an exciting event not only because of the quality of the production and its appeal to young audiences, but collaborating with The Ridgefield Theater Barn gives us the opportunity to strengthen our relationship with other theaters in the area.â
The first stage piece centers on Steve and Blue, stars of Nick Jrâs Emmy, Peabody and Parentsâ Choice Award-winning childrenâs program, Blueâs Clues. Blue and Steve will lead the audience on a clue-based journey in search of the most spectacular place of all.
Their quest takes them through Storybook Forest, where Blue and Steve meet The Three Little Pigs, Goldilocks, The Big Bad Wolf and other characters from classic fairytales. Blue and Steve even travel to outer space, discovering planets and other celestial wonders along the way.
Performances will be Saturday, January 23, at 10:30 am and 1 pm, and Sunday, January 24, at 1 pm. Tickets for all shows are $15 for reserved seating.
Reservations can be made online at TheatreWorks.us or by calling the box office at 860-350-6863. TheatreWorks is at 5 Brookside Avenue, just off Route 202.
