Rell Wants Probe Of Outages

 HARTFORD (AP) – Connecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell says she’s told state regulators to investigate two utility companies’ response to thousands of power outages in the state caused by a three-day rain and wind storm.

Rell said Tuesday that she’s concerned about reports of slow responses by Connecticut Light & Power Co. and The United Illuminating Co. She’s asked the Department of Public Utilities Control commissioner to investigate. About 40,000 customers in Connecticut remained without power Tuesday afternoon.
