Brighter Days Ahead For Relay
Brighter Days Ahead For Relay
To the Editor:
I am writing to offer a heartfelt thank you to the organizers, sponsors, and participants of Newtownâs 2010 Relay for Life. Each year, this event brings our community together so that we can stand in solidarity to fight cancer, to raise funds to support patients and their families, and to educate one another about early detection and prevention of this devastating disease.
Although the weather was uncooperative this year, Addie Sandler and the other organizers of the event did an incredible job at managing the unfortunate situation that ultimately diverted participants from the Fairfield Hills grounds into the Reed Intermediate School. Thanks to Addie and her team for their professional and rapid response to ensure that all participants were safe during the storm.
Despite the rain, thunder, and lightening during the Relay, cancer patients and their families will see brighter days because of the incredible support of those who participated in, organized, and sponsored this event.
All my best,
Chris Lyddy
