Lyddy Larceny Case Continued In Court
STAMFORD — Kyle Lyddy, 32, formerly of Newtown, and his defense lawyer appeared on February 27 in Connecticut Superior Court in Mr Lyddy’s ongoing first-degree larceny case involving his alleged misappropriation of approximately $500,000 from Match Marketing Group, his former employer in Norwalk.
Later that day, attorney William F. Dow, III, of New Haven, who represents Mr Lyddy, said the case is in the discovery stage. Mr Dow said that he will be studying the state’s evidence that he has received concerning the criminal charge.
Declining to comment on the status of the criminal prosecution, Mr Dow said, “I’m not going to talk about the case.”
A judge scheduled Mr Lyddy’s next court appearance for April 24. The defendant is free on $100,000 bail. The felony charge is listed on the court’s pre-trial docket, according to a court official.
Mr Lyddy was arrested by Norwalk police on September 10, 2018. According to Norwalk police, Mr Lyddy was arrested following a month-long investigation, which stemmed from a complaint from Match Marketing Group.
In Newtown, Mr Lyddy had been the chairman of the Sandy Hook Permanent Memorial Commission since its inception in 2013. He resigned that post in April 2018.
Mr Lyddy ran an unsuccessful campaign for the 106th District State House of Representatives seat in 2016. In 2018, Mr Lyddy also served as the manager for the Oz Griebel gubernatorial campaign until he resigned just before his arrest.
