Eleanor C. Pivirotto, 72, of Derby, died March 13, at MidState Medical Center in Meriden. She was the beloved wife of 53 years to Richard J. Pivirotto. She was born in Bridgeport, March 13, 1939, daughter of Anna (Renda) and Walter Bowser, and was a dedicated member of the Derby community since 1965.
Mrs Pivirotto will be sadly missed by her three children, including Elisa Keenan, and her husband Michael, of Sandy Hook. She will also be missed by her eight grandchildren; her three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Francis and David Bowser. She is predeceased by two siblings.
She was a special education teacher in Derby for more than 25 years, until her retirement in 2009. She was a proud member of the prestigious Delta Kappa Gamma International Society for Key Women Educators and the Connecticut Teacherâs NEA. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Funeral services took place March 17. Burial was at Mount St Peter Cemetery, Derby.
