Helen M. Tamburri, 100, of Danbury, formerly of Newtown and Southbury, died November 14, at Danbury Hospital, after a brief illness. A daughter of Ella and John Johnson, she was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., May 3, 1911. She was the wife of the late Nicholas J. Tamburri.

A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she was blessed with a loving and warm personality that manifested itself with first, her family, and then with all her friends and others, who became part of her extended family. All who knew her were captivated by her sharp wit and good humor, regardless of their ages or stations in life. She will be missed by all who knew her.

With her husband, Mrs Tamburri spent many years at the Yankee Drover Inn in Newtown, which burned down in 1981, training young employees and greeting customers with her warmth and charm.

Survivors include a son, Bob Tamburri of Danbury; a daughter, Judi Larson of Brookfield; her former daughter-in-law, Ellen Tamburri of New Milford; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a grandson.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, November 18, at 11 am, at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main Street, Danbury. Friends will be received Friday, at 10 am, at the funeral home, until the time of the service. Burial will be in St John Cemetery, Darien
