Restoration Services

Directory Available

HAMDEN — The Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation announces publication of Restoration Services Directory, with underwriting support from Middlesex Mutual Assurance Co. of Middletown.

The directory is the first and only publication in Connecticut that lists names of house restoration professionals and contractors. Listings include restoration contractors, building movers, church steeple restorers, historic preservation consultants, preservation/restoration architects, millworkers, cabinetmakers, antiques and stained glass restorers, and more.

For its 25 years as Connecticut’s statewide preservation organization, Connecticut Trust has been the state’s major resource for information on old house and building restoration. CT Trust answers hundreds of telephone calls each year requesting sources for old house care.

In addition to Restoration Services Directory, the trust publishes a bi-monthly magazine, Connecticut Preservation News, to inform members, constituents and state legislators on preservation issues. The trust also publicizes endangered historic properties for sale in its bi-monthly Historic Properties Exchange.

Other publications include maps, posters, historic resource inventories of Connecticut’s important African-American historic sites, greens, historic theatres, and historic buildings in urban neighborhoods to educate school children, community organizations and all residents of Connecticut.

Copies of Restoration Services Directory are available for $10. Orders are accepted through the mail, at Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation, 940 Whitney Avenue, Hamden, CT 06517-4002, or call 203/562-6312. Information on the trust and its other publications is also available at this phone number.
