WATERBURY â Any horse lovers who want to know the latest on Barn Building should attend the Quiz the Experts evening lecture at Teikyo Post University on Friday, February 23rd being presented by the Equine Resources Committee.
Barn Improvement 101 will include a panel of experts who will explain the basic doâs and donâts of planning and building a barn â or just updating your current one. There will representatives from several companies who will explain all you need to know before you start, how to plan the layout, what materials to use, what is the best ventilation and also how to make work easier for yourself or your staff.
It is a fact that many tragic barn fires have been caused by faulty electrical wiring (old or new). A qualified electrician, with experience in building for horses, will there to share some priorities that you will need to consider to avoid potential fire risks.
 Please bring along any ideas or experiences to share about building or updating a barn, choices of flooring or fencing, and any other tips on making life easier for yourself and your horses. Bring along lots of questions for the experts too.
 The event will be in the Eagles Nest, Leever Student Center on the Waterbury campus (Exit 17 off I-84). Tickets are available in advance for the price of $5, or $10 at the door.
