A Voice For Newtown
A Voice For Newtown
To the Editor:
Did you know that Chris Lyddy is the youngest elected official in Newtown? Are you aware that he received the highest number of votes among all candidates in the fall 2007 election? Have you read about his accomplishments? Do you know what his priorities will be when elected to the State Legislature? Well, a visit to his website, www.ChrisLyddy.com, will answer the above questions and offer a snapshot of a young man destined to accomplish much.
It has been my pleasure to work with Chris Lyddy over the years. I was introduced to him during his senior year at Newtown High. Chris was co-chair of the Newtown Youth Servicesâ Youth Advisory Board and a member of the Youth Services Board of Directors. The former, Chris has often articulated, was the springboard for his involvement and commitment to serving the public. Needless to say, Chris carried that mantle through undergraduate and graduate school. Upon completion of his studies, Chris Lyddy returned to Newtown and resides here. In addition to his full-time job, Chris is a member of numerous local and state level boards and he traverses the state in hopes of making a difference. Confucius said, âA superior man is modest in his speech, but exceeds in his actions.â Surely, that describes Chris Lyddy!
Chrisâs training as a social worker will serve him well as our state representative. Chris truly cares for, and is interested in, people. He has a keen insight, compassion, and intuitive nature. The State Legislature will be blessed by his energy, enthusiasm, and vitality!
Chris will listen, learn, and then act. Recently, Chris took a stand on a Charter Communication proposal (along side of Attorney General Richard Blumenthal) that would have impacted Newtown and also spoke to the issue of affordable housing in town.
While I hate to see Chris Lyddy leave us on the local level, I am certain he will be our staunch advocate in Hartford.
Please join me in electing Chris Lyddy this fall as the State Representative from the 106th District. Chrisâs voice in Hartford will be a voice for Newtown.
Sincerely,
Roseanne G. Loring
