LINDA A. HOLT’S RECENT PAINTINGS AT BOSTON’S BETH URDANG GALLERY

BOSTON, MASS. — Beth Urdang Gallery presents an exhibition of new paintings of koi fish and waterfalls by Linda A. Holt, on view through August 4. A reception for the artist will be Friday, July 13, from 5 to 7 pm.

Holt’s palette and fluid brush strokes are suited to her subject of koi fish under water reflected in still pools, and immersed in cascades. Inspired by a recent trip to Hawaii, this particular series often incorporates a broader view of glistening water, tropical colors and brilliant light.

Holt has been a guest critic at The Fashion Institute in New York, a resident artist at Blueberry Cove, a lecturer in fine arts at the University of Pennsylvania and is the recipient of The Nathaniel Saltonstall Purchase Prize in Drawing from Skowhegan. Her paintings are included in more than 35 public collections and in many private collections.
