EDUCATION
Saturday, August 14 â An introductory seminar in âEquine Communication through Body Language and the Use of the Round Penâ will be held in Bethany. This will be followed on Saturday, August 21, with an intermediate level session that addresses teaching the mental and emotional components of the horse and a third Seminar on August 28 that deals with how the rider can ask the horse for desired behaviors. If your horse fidgets, crowds you, is excitable, or just confuses you with his/her behavior, consider attending these seminars to learn about horse communication and how you can use it to smooth your relationship with your horse(s). The format for each Seminar is an explanation with a take-home handout, a demonstration, and a âHands Onâ period for participants. Auditors are welcome, too. Each session is a prerequisite to the next level because of the in-depth theory that is presented. (Attendance at previous Round Pen Technique Seminars meets the prerequisite). Seminars begin at 10 am and run about three hours. It is $65 to participate and $45 to audit. Attendees are asked to bring chairs, insecticide, sunscreen, clipboard and pencil/pen, sun/rain protection, warm jacket, etc. The dates for heavy rain are Sundays, August 15th, 22, and 29. Registration is required as space is limited. Please contact Judith@EssnJay.com or (203) 393-1590 with questions and to register.
