Catholic School Week A Success
Catholic School Week
A Success
St Rose School recently commemorated national Catholic Schools Week from January 29 through February 4 with a variety of events, including a special mass and a supplies drive for new mothers.
Celebrated by Catholic schools nationwide, Catholic Schools Week was first established in 1974 to recognize the valuable contribution Catholic schools make to the church, community, and country.
Highlights of St Roseâs celebration included an exciting faculty vs eighth grade basketball game that also featured a 50/50 raffle and a foul-shooting contest. In eager anticipation of the event, students wore St Roseâs red-and-white school colors and held a school spirit-pumping pep rally the afternoon before the game. The eighth graders won!
St Rose students also held their annual day of appreciation for their bus drivers with âThank Our Bus Drivers Day.â The students treated the drivers to a McDonaldâs lunch.
Finally, the entire school participated in the annual Baby Shower Service Project. Each student came to school with an unwrapped baby gift a young mother would need (formula, diapers, wipes, clothing, etc). The gifts were delivered to the Daughters of Charity in Bridgeport.
