Motor Vehicle Charges

Police report that they stopped motorist Tori Skovron, 46, of Easton on South Main Street after they learned that she was driving while under suspension.

Police charged Skovron with driving while under suspension and failure to notify the state Department of Motor Vehicles of an address change. Police released Skovron for a June 23 appearance in Danbury Superior Court.

Church Hill Road

While on patrol about 7 pm on June 6 on Church Hill Road, police noticed that motorist Lisa Garamella, 35, of 138 Underhill Road was driving a vehicle that had no front marker plate, so they stopped her to investigate.

Police charged Garamella with misuse of a marker plate, driving while under suspension, and failure to carry automotive insurance.

Police released Garamella on a promise to appear June 23 in Danbury Superior Court.

Warrant

Early on the morning of June 7, Bridgeport police detained Richie Ortiz, 33, of Bridgeport after learning that Newtown police held an arrest warrant for him.

Newtown police transported Ortiz to the Newtown police station where they charged him with two counts of illegal use of a credit card and two counts of sixth degree larceny. The charges stem from Ortiz’s alleged use of another person’s credit card without authorization, police said.

Police held Ortiz on $250 bail for a court appearance later that day.

Swamp Road

Motorist Matthew Kearney, 21, of Easton, who was driving a 1998 Nissan Maxima sedan northward on Swamp Road about 11 pm June 6, lost control of the vehicle and went off the right side of the road, police said.

Neither Kearney, nor passenger Mathis Cooper, 21, of Easton, were injured, police said. Both were wearing seatbelts, police said.

Police issued Kearney an infraction ticket for making a restricted turn and also a written warning for failure to carry an automotive insurance identification card.

MV Charges

On the afternoon of June 6, police stopped motorist Brian Mitchell, 45, of New Milford to investigate and charged him with traveling too fast and with driving while under suspension. After he posted $100 bail, police released Mitchell for a June 21 court appearance.
