ONTARIO, Canada â Josh Freitas of Newtown scored a goal, but the Junior Rangers still dropped a 4-2 decision to the Brampton Battalion on December in the 2005 Bell Challenge Cup hockey tournament at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.
Freitasâ goal put the Junior Rangers up, 1-0, at the 8:31 mark of the first period and a goal by Ryan Haggerty at the 9:07 mark of the second period put the Junior Rangers up, 2-0. But the Battalion scored four times in the third period to grab the win.
The Junior Rangers opened the tournament with a 2-0 win over the Cleveland Barons before dropping an 8-0 decision to the eventual champion Toronto Marlboros. After the loss to Brampton, the Junior Rangers bowed out of the tournament with a 4-1 loss to the London Junior Knights.
Next up is the 47th annual Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament February 9-19 at the Pepsi Coliseum in Quebec, Ontario, Canada.
About 2,300 players from 16 countries will participate in the tournament over 11 days and in front of some 200,000 fans.
