Helen P. Kaechele, 89, of Newtown, died peacefully July 30, at Danbury Hospital, with her family at her side. She was born in Danbury, August 29, 1922, a daughter of Mary Leibold Perkins and Edward Perkins.
Mrs Kaechele grew up in Monroe, and was a graduate of Bassick High School, and Booth and Bayliss Business School. She worked in the clerical field for many years at Motor Equipment and Moore Tool in Bridgeport, and later as a teller at Connecticut National Bank in Shelton.
A member of St Rose Church in Newtown, Mrs Kaechele was also a volunteer at the Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen, a babysitter for great-nephew Dan, and a fantastic baker of goodies for her family and friends. She had a close group of neighbors, friends, and workers at Nunnawauk Meadows and the surrounding area. She will be sadly missed by those who knew her, and most remembered for her kindness and infectious laugh, as well as love for her family.

She was predeceased by her son, Charles Kaechele III, and her sister Kathleen P Heimstra, as well as a niece.
A private graveside service for the family took place August 3, at Stepney Cemetery.
