*AFTER THREE SECONDS will bring its âunique brand of classical and progressive-tinged indie rockâ to Mocha Coffee House this weekend, opening the music corner on Glen Road on Friday night at 8. The Southbury based group got its start in the halls of my own alma mater: Pomperaug High School.
Singer-songwriter MALENA ZANJANI, who uses only her first name professionally, will bring her folk laced pop and country to the same venue the following night. Her press materials paint her music as a mix between Taylor Swift and Colbie Caillat, with influences ranging from Billie Holiday to Brittany Spears.
Next weekendâs music will be brought to us by THE NICK DI MARIA QUARTET on Saturday, performing their original modern jazz, and then SHADOW will be in Sandy Hook on August 29, performing her own one woman rock and roll medicine show.
*Also next weekend, OLD SCHOOL â the duo of Tony Summo and Lou Bellofatto â will return to Proud Maryâs at The Inn at Newtown on Friday, August 28. Tony plays guitar, Lou does the keyboards thing, and they bring along custom recorded tracks to give them a full band sound.
*THE ADULTS have a number of shows coming up, including a return to The One-Eyed Pig on South Main Street this weekend. The guys will be there Friday night for a 9 pm start.

Tickets will also be available at the Mohegan Sun Box Office starting Sunday August 23, if these shows somehow donât sell out.
*Country radio station 92.5 FM has been talking about this show as if tickets were available for weeks, but now they really will be. BRAD PAISLEY, the reigning ACM and CMA Male Vocalist of the Year, will be at Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, October 24, with Dierks Bentley and Jimmy Wayne opening for him, and tickets are going on sale Friday morning.
Theyâre $60 and $75, and will be available through TicketMaster on Friday, then also available through the casinoâs box office starting Saturday if any are still available.
Until next week, Iâll be seeing you⦠on the road.
