Mr & Mrs Chris Seman

Newtown residents Aimee Nicole Colber and Chris Michael Seman were married on August 8, 2009, at Mohonk Mountain House Castle in New Paltz, N.Y. Barbara J. Colber, the bride’s mother, officiated the ceremony, which also included a rose ceremony during which the groom promised his wife that he would remember the couple’s vows and their wedding day by giving Aimee a rose each year on their anniversary.

Aimee is the daughter of Barbara Colber of Newtown and Stephane Colbert of New Fairfield. The bride’s father was one of the couple’s wedding photographers.

For her wedding day Aimee chose a princess dress with silver jewels and tulle with silver sparkles incorporated. She carried a bouquet of roses, orchids, gardenia, hydrangea, and a butterfly.

Her matron of honor was Yvette Newton of Newtown, who wore a full length dress in a shade of turquoise that mirrored pool light turquoise, and her bouquet included roses, calla lilies, and orchids.

Bridesmaids were Treather Gassman of Martha’s Vineyard, Karen Murano of Brookfield, Kristina Braun of New Fairfield, Laura Braun of Woodbury, Sharon Tolland of Walpole, Mass., and Lee Hunihan of Suffield. Junior bridesmaids were Brooke Newton of Newtown and Shannon Seman of Middlebury. Lacy Newton of Newtown was the flower girl.

The best man was John Seman of Newtown. Ushers were Richard Seman of Middlebury, Bryan Daugherty of Atlanta, Ga., Doug Berendsohn of Newtown, Robb Williams of Asburn, Va., Brien Tolland of Walpole, Mass., and Connor Seman of Middlebury.

Mr and Mrs Seman are both graduates of Newtown High School. She graduated in 1989, and he graduated with the Class of 1986.

Aimee is also a graduate of Western Connecticut State University, having earned a degree in biology with a minor in ecology. She is the director of and a yoga teacher at Santosha Center for Yoga & Health in Hawleyville. She is also continuing her medical studies and plans to become a primary care physician.

Chris is the son of Richard Seman of Southbury and the late Patricia Seman.

He is a graduate of The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, where he earned degrees in photography and marketing. He is continuing his studies, while also working as a photographer, model, and yoga instructor. He is also working on publishing his first book, which will combine his prose and photos of people with and near the American flag in every state.

The Semans honeymooned in Ogunquit, Maine, and have returned to their home in Newtown.
