Charity Basketball Game To Benefit Newtown Youth And Family Services
The coaches from the Newtown Youth Basketball Associationâs Junior Boysâ League will put on a charity basketball game.
Proceeds will go to Newtown Youth and Family Services this Saturday, March 20 at the Newtown High School gymnasium at 3 pm.
The game pits the grades 7 and 8 boysâ team coaches against the High School students who served as referees during their regular season games. Many of these student refs play on the NHS varsity and JV teams.
Basketball fans are encouraged to come out to watch the game and support a good cause. All funds collected during the game will be donated to Newtown Youth and Family Services, a licensed, non-profit, mental health clinic and youth service bureau dedicated to helping children and families. It provides programs, services, activities, counseling, support groups and education throughout the greater Newtown area regardless of ability to pay.
