The Greening Of The Season

To the Editor:

The Garden Club of Newtown would like to say a big “thank you” to all who helped to make our annual Greens Sale a continuing success. The proceeds of this sale help to support our club’s many local projects, including maintenance of the Matthew Curtiss House gardens, the Blue Star Marker Garden, Barb’s Trail Garden, Newtown’s Booth Library plantings, and the Newtown Scholarship Association.

Each year Newtown’s beautiful Meeting House allows our members to conduct our workshops through the week. As a club, we are always dazzled by the sights, sounds and scents of the holiday season as we gather together on Saturday to sell our handmade wares in the sparkling space of the sanctuary of the Meeting House. Thank you Sherry and Tom Paisley for your continuing support of our cause as well as for your meticulous managing of this Newtown landmark.

Once again we are grateful to Caraluzzi’s for their generous contributions and curbside delivery of the wreaths which we decorate. We’re proud to have Caraluzzi’s as a new friend in town. Jen, you’re the best!

And finally, we thank you, Newtown, for supporting us through your purchases and your words of encouragement. Each year we are reminded of how fortunate we are to be a part of all that makes Newtown a great place to call home.

Gratefully,

Beth Caldwell

President
