To Offer New Tiny Tots Program

Wesley Learning Center Director Rahnna Peck announced this week the child care center at 92 Church Hill Road is preparing to offer a new one-day a week class for 16-month-olds to 2-year-olds.

Ms Peck said Wesley Learning Center started offering a course for 2-year-olds two years ago, “and we found that parents were really enjoying that.”

The National Association for the Education of Young Children-accredited program at the school offers courses for students already between the ages of 2 and 6.

Ms Peck said the new program will be called “Tiny Tot Learners,” and will become available for parents to sign up in the middle of August. To sign up for the program, call 203-426-6149.

The earlier students start socializing with other students, Ms Peck said, the easier it becomes for them later on to learn.

“Their language skills will increase,” said Ms Peck, as one advantage to students who take the Tiny Tots Learners course.

Students will be encouraged to interact with other students during free play time, and will learn different abilities through organized learning. A snack time will also be offered during the two-and-half- hour program.
