For police reports

Warrant

Police report that at about 6:47 am on July 18, they stopped motorist George P. Zachos, Jr, 28, of 56 Glen Road for traveling 40 miles per hour in a 25-mph zone near 50 Poverty Hollow Road. Police said they verbally warned Zachos for traveling fast.

Police said that a computerized records check indicated there was a pending warrant for Zachos’s arrest. Police said they then charged Zachos with second-degree failure to appear in court, disorderly conduct, and second-degree criminal mischief.

Wilton police had charged Zachos with disorderly conduct and second-degree criminal mischief in April 2005.  In August 2005, a judge in Norwalk Superior Court issued the rearrest warrant for failure to appear in court.

Newtown police said they held Zachos on $500 bail for a July 18 arraignment in Danbury Superior Court.

MV Charges

Police said on July 17 that they stopped motorist Arthur Randall, 42, of 4 Botsford Hill Road for traveling 44 miles per hour in a 25-mph zone on Swamp Road.

Police said that after investigating, they charged Randall with traveling unreasonably fast, driving a vehicle while under suspension, failure to carry a vehicle registration, and driving without automotive insurance.

Police said they released Randall on a written promise to appear in court on August 7.
