Family Support Groups
BRIDGEPORT â A free breast cancer survivor support group, sponsored by St Vincentâs SWIM Across the Sound, meets on the first and third Tuesdays of every month from 5:30 to 7 pm on Level 4 of the Elizabeth Pfriem SWIM Center for Cancer Care, adjacent to St Vincentâs Medical Center, 2800 Main Street.
Upcoming date is September 18.
The Breast Cancer Survivor Support Group provides information and resource to women dealing with breast cancer at any stage of survivorship. Breast cancer patients are also given the opportunity to share their questions and concerns about the disease.
Facilitators are Maureen Pelletier, RN, OCN, and Joyce Flynn, Network of Strength volunteer.
In other news, a free family support group for adult patients, family members. and friends who are coping with a diagnose of leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and Hodgkinâs disease is being offered at St Vincentâs on the first Tuesday of every month from 4 to 5:30 pm.
The group will meet in the Elizabeth M. Pfriem SWIM Center for Cancer Care, Level 3 Medical Oncology Conference Room.
The group is co-sponsored by St Vincentâs SWIM Across the Sound and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
This group is facilitated by social worker Eileen Bohan, MSW, and Director of Integrative Oncology Teresa Money McLaughlin, RN, MSN, AOCN. No reservation required and parking is free with validated ticket.
