Family Counseling Center Honors Newtown Rotary

Newtown Rotary was the recipient of the Family Counseling Center’s 2003 HD Award.

 The award is named after H.D. Bassett, a former FCC board member and dedicated volunteer whose countless hours of service contributed greatly to the success of the center.

Each year the center recognizes outstanding volunteer contributions made by an individual or an organization on behalf of the Family Counseling Center. The presentation was made by Glen Nanavaty, chairman of the board, and Terry Blackmer, executive director of the center.

“For many years now, we have shared a close relationship with the membership of the Newtown Rotary club,” Mr Nanavaty said to the Rotarians in presenting the award.

“You have supported the efforts of the center and we have been fortunate to include some of your members as directors and even former chairman of our organization,” he said. “For the past six years, we have been a beneficiary of your annual golf tournament. It is with much pleasure that Terry Blackmer and I honor all of you for your support and continuations with this year’s HD Award,” he concluded.
