Post University Providing Tuition Grants To NSB Staffers

As a new participant in Post University’s Partners in Education Program, Newtown Savings Bank will offer its employees access to quality undergraduate higher education at a reduced tuition rate.

Under the agreement, Post University will provide tuition grants to employees of Newtown Savings Bank who want to earn an associate’s or bachelor’s degree by enrolling in one of the University’s Accelerated Degree Programs. Employees also will have the option of enrolling in a Post University Master’s Degree Program. Newtown Savings Bank offers employees partial tuition reimbursement, making the path to a degree even more affordable.

“At Newtown Savings Bank, we have always looked for ways to improve the lives of our employees,” said Duane Giannini, senior vice president, human resources. “This program is just another way to provide employees with the education they want and need to improve their skills and advance their careers.”

Employees will have the option of taking courses at one of the university’s regional locations or completely online. They can earn a master’s degree in as little as 14 months, and a bachelor’s degree in as little as 18 months. Newtown Savings Bank employees also will receive college credit for select corporate education and training courses, as well as for courses taken at other accredited colleges or universities.

“We are delighted that Newtown Savings Bank has joined our growing Partners in Education program to provide their employees a flexible, convenient, and affordable way to earn a college degree,” said Frank Mulgrew, president of Post University Online. “We’ve had tremendous success with this program because it gives working adults the opportunity to not only earn a degree, but immediately improve their workforce skills.”

The bank currently has 13 branches in Newtown, Bethel, Brookfield, Danbury, Monroe, Shelton, Southbury, Trumbull, and Woodbury, with a new branch opening soon in Monroe. For more information visit www.nsbonline.com or call 800-461-0672.
