Listen & Learn Lecture Series

BRIDGEPORT — St Vincent’s Medical Center is launching a new free series of physician talks on health and wellness topics. Called the “Listen & Learn” Lecture Series, the new program is open to the general public, and will rotate sites for the talks among area towns. It is a collaboration between St Vincent’s Club 50 and its physician services.

“We are pleased to offer this new program of health-related information to area residents to help them stay well,” said Carol Kuhta, director of St Vincent’s Club 50. “It is a part of St Vincent’s mission of outreach to the community.”

According to physician services director Laura Flavell, “This is a great opportunity for individuals to learn from experts in the field about medical topics and prevention strategies, and to sort through all the confusing health information out there. Topics will cover a broad range of issues, and St Vincent’s physicians are excited about participating in this new project.”

A question and answer session will be included in each talk, and light refreshments will be provided.

The fall session of three talks will be held from 4 to 5pm on Thursdays in the Memorial Room of the Fairfield Library, Old Post Road:

September 15: “The Aging Eye” (cataracts, glaucoma, diabetes, macular degeneration) with ophthalmologist Anitha Patel, MD.

October 20: “Overactive Bladder & Incontinence” with urologist Kenneth Kingsly, MD.

November 17: “Latest Advances in Treatment of Heart Disease” with cardiologist Jeffrey Berman, MD.
