Waldorf School Playgroup Registration
Waldorf School Playgroup Registration
The Housatonic Valley Waldorf School, 40 Dodgingtown Road (Route 302), is now accepting registration for the fall session of its weekly playgroup for children from birth to age 3½, accompanied by an adult.
The Waldorf early childhood atmosphere creates a community where children play together and parents support one another. Playthings are simple and natural.
While the children play, the parents work with their hands, creating playthings and seasonal crafts. Circle time is for songs, movement, finger games and simple puppet plays. After playing, a wholesome snack is shared together. The playgroup is an introduction to Waldorf education.
The session lasts for 16 weeks, beginning mid-September. The two-hour class is offered one day a week on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings. The cost is $360; sibling discounts are available.

The Housatonic Valley Waldorf School is based on the ideas of educator, artist and philosopher Dr Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) who founded the first Waldorf School. At the core of the Waldorf philosophy is the belief that knowledge is best learned experientially as well as academically.
