Lighting The Night

To the Editor:

The second annual Light the Night Walk was held last month in Danbury. This national fundraiser raised over $40,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It was a success! The night was lit with red and white balloons, red for supporters and white for survivors.

Thank you to all who participated and gave donations. A special thanks goes to My Place Restaurant and Carminuccio’s Pizza for having fundraisers. The Interact Club of Newtown Middle School walked for the second year. They sold the paper balloons that said, “I helped Light the Night” and red bracelets with “Relentless” embossed. Another special thanks to Gregg Simon at Newtown high School for selling the balloons and bracelets. Bagel Delight also sold the paper balloons.

Together we can help raise funds to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood cancers.

It still is nicer in Newtown.

Sincerely,

Ginny Chion
