Beloved Classics For All Ages

BRIDGEPORT — Two classic works, beloved by generations of children and adults, will be featured at Greater Bridgeport Symphony’s concert on Saturday, November 10. The orchestra, under the baton of acclaimed conductor Gustav Meier, will bring to life musical fairy tales of two of the greatest 20th Century Russian composers.

Psergei rokofiev’s Peter & the Wolf, a symphonic story in which a different instrument represents each character, is a perennial family favorite. The orchestra will reenact the enchanting tale of young Peter as he tries to capture a fearsome wolf. GBS will also perform Igor Stravinsky’s Petrushka, a burlesque ballet about an uncontrollable, rebellious puppet, suddenly endowed with life.

The 8 pm performance will take place at Klein Auditorium, 910 Fairfield Avenue. Free, attended parking is provided for symphony patrons.

Tickets are $22 to $54, with students and group discounts available.
