Childrenâs Programs At Booth Library
C.H. Booth Library has a few programs planned during the next few weeks that are especially geared toward its younger visitors.
The Serendipity Players of Sabrinaâs Encore Productions will offer their unique interpretation of Midsummer Nightâs Dream, with an original score, Sunday, February 10, at 2 pm, in the libraryâs meeting room.
The performance is recommended for ages 5 and up and it part of the libraryâs ongoing Searching for Shakespeare series, which has been looking at different titles by The Bard since November.
The adult programs this month have been looking at King Lear, but this program will offer its own introduction to young readers to one of Shakespeareâs most popular works for the stage.
The romantic comedy was written sometime during the 1590s. It portrays the adventures of four young Athenian lovers and a group of amateur actors, their interactions with the Duke and Duchess of Athens, Theseus and Hippoluyta, and with fairies who inhabit a moonlit forest. The play is regularly performed around the world.
Then on Friday, February 22 (Washingtonâs Birthday), Newtown resident Karen Pierce will offer a yoga demo class at 10 am.
Kids and teens can be pretty stressed out and over-stimulated. Young people can benefit from yoga. While strengthening and stretching they can also develop concentration, focus and body awareness, and just feel good!
Ms Pierce, who is a yoga instructor and the author of YogaBear: Yoga for Youngsters, invites children ages 4 to 7 to join her for a little bit of unplugged time.
